Wildfire-Retardant Maker Perimeter Solutions Moving Its Headquarters to Charlotte

By Tripper Wood ·

Charlotte is getting another corporate headquarters. Perimeter Solutions, the publicly traded company behind the PHOS-CHEK fire retardant you see pouring from air tankers over wildfires, plans to move its headquarters from the St. Louis area to Charlotte on Nov. 4, Charlotte Stories reported.

Key facts

  • The company is valued at about $4.5 billion.
  • With the move it will rename itself Perimeter Group Inc. and keep trading on the NYSE as PRM.
  • It reported $652.9 million in 2025 sales and $213.8 million in second-quarter 2026 revenue.

Why Charlotte

The company hasn't said publicly why it chose Charlotte. It does already have a big presence here: earlier this year Perimeter bought Charlotte-based Medical Manufacturing Technologies (MMT) for $685 million. MMT builds automated equipment used to make medical devices like catheters, stents and guidewires, and the deal brought in more than 350 employees.

What we don't know yet

Perimeter hasn't said where the headquarters will be or how many corporate jobs will move to Charlotte. We'll update this story when those details come out.

More than firefighting

Perimeter now runs six businesses: Perimeter Solutions (wildfire retardants), Solberg Fire (firefighting foams), Monaco Enterprises (emergency-management systems, bought this year for $120 million), MMT, Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (electronics) and Phosphorus Derivatives Inc. (specialty chemicals).
