Waxhaw's Prescott Glen Parkway Down to One Lane for Sewer Work
By Tripper Wood ·
If you drive Prescott Glen Parkway in Waxhaw, plan for some delays. Since Tuesday, Oct. 20, the road has been cut to one lane during the workday while crews connect sewer lines for a new townhome community, as The Waxhaws Dispatch reported.
What to know
- Where: between the roundabout at Pine Oak Road and the roundabout behind Lowes Foods
- When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, for about three weeks
- How: flaggers will run alternating one-way traffic; the road will not fully close
- Normal two-lane traffic resumes outside work hours
Why
The work is for the sewer connection to the Artisan Townhomes, a planned 169-unit neighborhood in the Prescot Village area. Because it's a developer-funded project, the town says the schedule could shift with weather or other factors.
Heads up on left turns
This is the same stretch that changed last December, when Pine Oak Road at NC-16 became right-in, right-out only. Drivers who need to turn left onto NC-16 have been routing through Prescott Glen Parkway to the light near Lowes Foods, so expect that detour to be slower during work hours.
